G’day, I’m Josh Withers, a Celebrant in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, and Wollongong. Since 2009, I’ve been in the business of uniting couples in marriage – professionally, of course. What began as a casual endeavour has blossomed into my life’s work and passion.

I firmly believe that a marriage ceremony should be the most memorable part of your wedding day. Sure, the cake is delightful, and the first dance is fantastic, but nothing compares to those precious moments when you’re actually getting hitched. In my eyes, celebrancy transcends a mere job; it’s a form of artistry. Each ceremony I craft is bespoke, uniquely tailored to the couple standing before me. It’s not about rehashing an old script with different names inserted. It’s about creating something authentic that truly reflects who you are.

My approach? Keep it genuine, relaxed, and, above all, engaging. Nobody wants to endure a dull, formal affair, glancing at their watch every few minutes. I believe ceremonies should exude a celebratory vibe – warm, inclusive, occasionally humorous, and always true to life.

Though my home base is now the picturesque Huon Valley in Tasmania, my work takes me far and wide – from local vineyards to the stunning coastlines of Italy. I’ve had the honour of marrying thousands of couples across Australia and around the globe.

When I’m not busy helping couples tie the knot, I’m spending time with my lovely wife Britt (married since September 7, 2012 – the best decision ever) and our beautiful daughters, Luna and Goldie.

I firmly believe that marriage holds significant value – not just for the couple, but for families, communities, and society as a whole. Strong marriages build strong families, which in turn create robust communities, contributing to a better world. It might sound a tad idealistic, but I’ve witnessed its truth too many times to think otherwise.
